Spent a weekend at LRVC. First time there, not my first time to the area. We stayed in cabin 9. Right across from the bathrooms. Bathrooms were fine. Basic campground bathrooms. Few shower stalls, few toilet stalls, several sinks, soap etc. Clean. Cabin was so cute. The mattresses are not my favorite. First night was difficult, 2nd night we took the bunk bed mattresses and put them under the big mattress. MUCH BETTER. but will be bringing a foam mattress thing for next time, as well. Cabin 9 is a 1 room rustic. Had a small 3 drawer dresser, and several shelves around the inside. Also a ceiling van. It was freezing the first night. We did borrow a heater from the office... but we touched it out and didnt need it . USE THEIR WOOD. We got more wood elsewhere bc I wanted to save a few bucks and that wood was AWFUL. us the campground wood they sell. Burns amazing. Everyone i encountered that worked there was pleasant. My only "complaint" is that there seems to be a seasonal site across the way from the cabin, that has one of those light fixtures that displays lights on your house (think xmas). It was shining green dots all over at night . Just a bit off putting sitting at the fire and there's green(and colorful) dots all over the sites and woods. overall, I would recommend and we are already booked to return.

Our first time here! Chad and Tammy were exceptional! To the owner; please treasure those two and treat them with the utmost respect! They went above and beyond! Tammy was extremely helpful and very flexible with us and Chad was present, friendly and efficient as we had a few questions! The place is big, well laid out, quiet and camp spots so clean with water hook ups! We will certainly be back.

My campsite was pretty great. The neighbors were all friendly and the campground was nice and quiet at night.

The bathroom, though clean, smells so very strongly of mildew. Also, charging 25 cents for 5 minutes to shower is absurd. I might have been fine with it if the machines in which you put the quarters didn't constantly jam up. The last day I was there 3 of the 4 showers weren't operational because they were jammed.

Overall good place and we enjoyed ourselves. Bathrooms and sites were well kept. Staff was friendly. You are close enough to all the things in town with out feeling to close... I will say through no fault of their own sites closer to the store are closer to a main road so you can hear cars so if you want more quiet definitely select a site towards back of the campground. Also most days the camp store closes at 5 so remember to get firewood before that... we forgot and had to run to town not huge deal but definitely something to keep in mind.

My biggest issue and why I only gave it 4 stars was the fact that according to the campground map which says there is a second playground in the main camping area and we specifically choose our site to be across from it for our kids. Only to find out there is not a playground. Also the main playground/rec area across the busy road could use a little upkeep and fresh paint as it definitely shows it's aging. The beach area is more of a pond which is really fun to catch frogs and salamanders but I didn't want my kids swimming in it. Child amenities for a place that charges a child fee even though they say they're a family campground and say that your site covers two adults and two children seemed very poor taste.

I went to this campground a few times growing up, and I was finally able to book my first trip as an adult. We went in the off-season (early May) and I highly recommend it to those who want a quiet getaway. The summer months tend to get crowded with campers. We booked a cabin by the river and it was very calming and beautiful.
The cabin is bare, so we knew to bring our own supplies and entertainment. Since it was still cold in the evenings, the staff kindly provided a heater for our cabin. They also left a list of recommended restaurants in the area. It was a very peaceful trip, I only wish I had booked longer.
