LBH Sun Retreats Long Beach Island

This was our first experience at Sun Retreats Long Beach Island , NJ it was opening day of the season reservations on line were seamless . It was easy to find , staff was personable yet professional. Park and site were clean , well organized. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the bathroom’s and showers. They were checked a couple times a day and actually we met the nice lady ( Gloria) who took care of them . 😊 I was pleased to tell her what a great job ! she does in maintaining them. 🤩 👏 . Very friendly and appreciative of us acknowledging her for her housekeeping services at Sun Retreats. We would like to visit again sometime if we are ever in this area , also recommend to others.Sincerely, D&D 😊

CABIN RENTAL IN NEW JERSEY; RV; VERY QUIET. Am a big fan of cabin rental at the NJ state parks. But none available this time so chose this private camping place. Clean. Only About 8 cabins. 100's of RV parking, though. Very interesting. Safe. Cabins are very small in size. No bathroom. No kitchen. But clean. The bathroom /shower facility is in 2 min walking distance. Again clean. Some outdoor activities available, nothing fancy. The small Pool opens only in the summers. No trouble with neighbor campers. The cabins are a little too close together. Much more expensive than the State park cabin rentals ($96 / night for small-mid size; $72 / night for tiny). PLUS $20 resort fee per cabin. Why??

My girlfriend and I rented the yurt and it was infested with vermin. The staff was extremely adamant about brining in food inside at night, but then it was ruined by mice. I gave two stars and not one because Janet was very sweet and helpful. The problem could have been easily fixed by maintenance. On top of that we had to evacuate because of a major RV fire on site, which I don't blame them but it just added to the misery. Not worth the money paid at all.

Loud blasting music at midnight, parties of large groups, no management on site?!
The rules clearly state quiet time, I guess the rules dont apply if you are a latino visitor ?!

I’ve been coming here for the past few summers, its clean, staff was friendly and I was proudly recommending this place to friends and brought guests with me. Never again!

Site itself is nice and overall deserves 5 stars but unfortunately, one individual kills the experience. This Sun retreats location has been our go-to family camping spot for years but this time around, faced a pool attendant who we’ve seen firsthand spewing discriminatory remarks to her friends openly and with ill intent which we believe is due to assumptions that non-western visitors won’t fully comprehend but nevertheless, was very discomforting. We were empathetic as the weather was hot and guests may have been non compliant resulting in more work for her but we strongly suggest re-training this individual on basic professional ethics or hire someone who won’t spew passive aggressive remarks mixed with discrimination for all to hear.
