I haven't been to Acorn for 2 years. The last time I camped here, I was disappointed with the number of aggressive homeless people who were living at the campground. I was pleased not to notice any on this trip. The campground was neat and clean.
The bathrooms were okay, but the shower water flow was minimal.

There are now very active camp hosts on site and the park rangers make frequent rounds through the park. One of the positives of this campground is the easy access to the water for swimming and boating activities. And there is a shopping area within a few miles at Valley Springs. There is a nice walking/biking trail and a disc golf course.

Came camping on a fairly busy weekend so you can expect crowds and noise. I was disappointed that the park staff didn’t enforce any of the rules or regulations around the number of people and quiet hours. The group across from us had double the number of people double the number of cars and were loud until 1:30 when we finally had to yell over to them. After 10 o’clock, there’s no park staff there so if you have a complaint, you need to call the sheriff or the CHP. I would recommend if you have any concerns about the noise level or activity of a group near you let this part staff know early of your concerns.
It was nice to be near the water and go paddling on the lake. If I return, it’ll probably be mid week and off-season.

Beautiful campground, on the lake, clean, quiet, lots of deer, geese , birds, squirrels....pretty good fishing. Great for kayaking or boating , they don't have rentals. Bathrooms with hot showers. A great place to camp and relax .

Campground has great views and most sites offer privacy from other visitors. Plenty of space for a larger group. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. The Rangers and other staff were very friendly and do a great job keeping the sites snd other facilities clean.

The campground was very clean and well maintained. It was comfortable and convenient for tent camping. I can’t really comment on the RV experience since we stayed in a tent, but for tent camping everything worked great for us. The restrooms were clean, and having hot showers made the trip even more enjoyable and comfortable.

We stayed at Acorn Campground for the full 14 days, at various campsites, while visiting family in Valley Springs. Our stay was quiet, calm, peaceful. The bathrooms were clean, showers were free and hot. All of the hosts and rangers were very friendly.
Looking forward to coming back next time.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.

- Driveways may not be level; bring leveling equipment for RVs and trailers. RVs and trailers must face the direction of travel.
