This is an exceptional campground, once in a lifetime, need to be creative about showers, but other than that it's heaven.

Wow, we were surprised at how nice the campground was. It was practically ON the bike path and super close to the bay side beaches. It was quiet and well looked after. Someone was always around to answer questions and it felt very safe.

Great location and lots to do. The campgrounds are a bit close together so consider getting two if going with friends.

Park rangers are the best! We camped for one night. Awesome no car needed camping experience. We took the Sandy Hook ferry from Manhattan and their shuttle bus brought us directly to the campsite and picked us up the next day from the campsite. There was a bike rental right outside the ferry terminal. Can't wait to camp here again!

Rangers were super nice and friendly. Campsites were close, and you will get to know anyone who is in one of the campsites in your area. Its a short walk to the bay side and obvi close to all of the Sandy Hook beaches!
Be aware there are racoons and foxes... and they are relentless. Use the boxes provided!
Also be aware that it is poison ivy season and tick season. Not too much PI, but something to watch for.
