Bugs are gone, everything was perfect as usual except for the extraordinary amount of campers that do not show up. One of my two nights the place was reserved as full but practically empty during absolutely glorious weather. Maybe let another family have your last minute reservation, even if you can’t get a refund ? The feds should sanction them it’s really a problem.

Clean sites, clean bathrooms, great location. A bit tough that you have to drive out to the gate and re-enter to park the following morning -- you lose your campsite spot by 10am.

I love the proximity to the bay and ocean in a clean camp ground private from crowds and nice maintained rest rooms. Which it was opened through October though

Our troop camp at Camp Gateway and hiked the multi use path twice, for a total of 20 mi. We really appreciated the water refill stations placed along the path. We will definitely be returning.
