Camp Gateway at Sandy Hook offers a beautiful and well-maintained campground with various activities, including hiking, biking, and fishing. Visitors appreciate the helpful rangers, clean facilities, and proximity to the beach and bay. While some noted minor inconveniences like limited parking and a lack of showers, the overall experience is positive, with many eager to return.

It’s just a great location. Also the Rangers are very helpful. I was there early in the season. Not many bugs. I will say beware of the raccoons after dark, just like you need to everywhere you camp. There are boxes for your food. Use them.
