Overall the NPS rangers are very patient, personable, friendly and helpful. The campsites are excellent and clean. The bathrooms need help just because they are getting old, and obviously showers of any sort, even a rustic outdoor shower, would be a proper addition. Too many raccoons, foxes, and deer, all of which interfere in the camping experience.

Great spot between the bay and the ocean - and very popular, so make your reservations as soon as you can. The campsites are close together, but still roomy enough to enjoy the evening around the firepit. It's an easy walk or bike to the Sandy Hook lighthouse and historic buildings. We were forewarned by a fellow camper that the raccoons are VERY aggressive here, and we made sure to keep every speck of food (even toothpaste!) in the storage locker. Take heed!

Campsite was great. My son had a small bike accident and the rangers were quick and helpful. Will definitely return!
