What Guests Are Saying

Sun Retreats Avalon offers a fun camping experience with friendly and helpful staff, and many guests appreciate the cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities. However, some transient spots can be challenging to navigate, and there are concerns about parking fees for visitors as well as the need for Wi-Fi and mosquito control improvements. Overall, while some find the pricing high compared to other campgrounds, many enjoy the atmosphere and activities available for families.

Great fun spot to camp. Staff is friendly and helpful. Some transient spots are difficult to get into because of the tree location and proximity to spots across from you. When you’re swinging your fifth wheel it was nearly impossible if other spots were occupied,. Me had friends had a difficult time in spots especially; 187,188, 542, 541, 540. It wouldn’t take much to Trim these small trees but they don’t seem too concerned about it. Spot 186 has a “widow maker”a.k.a. dead tree and if it fell it would take out my truck and my fifth wheel in one shot and you might want to avoid this spot. If your 5’er is under 35 feet it may less of an issue.

Interesting I've never heard of now you have to pay for parking to visit a camp Ground $10 a person $10 to park a car,, 2 people so $30. prices are high enough to camp and now they hit you with family visiting $10 to park $ 10to visit., I mean I've heard of paying to visit but parking it's not an vv5 amusement park just sad,, family likes to come visit to see the campgrounds and check them out but now they have to pay to park absolutely crazy. way to be greedy and make money just sad won't be telling anybody to go to that Campground way to go campgrounds.

Typical "down the shore" campground. Needs WIFI/cable upgrade, and mosquito control. You'll get covered with mosquitoes leaving the trailer or the car, even in broad daylight. Campground is too cheap to spray. WIFI and cable sucks. Even if you pay the extra per month to get the better WIFI, it still sucks.

We went to Sun Retreats Avalon for the weekend. I wasn't impressed for the price. Spots were ok at best. I will say the Ladies in the office/camp store were extremely nice.
But all in all we could have stayed at Thousand trails around the corner for half the price. I have never paid so much for a campground in my life. I had high expectations for the price. Over $150 a night!! We stayed on the water at the lake Ontario Sun Retreats for a little over $100 a night and the campground is much nicer.

Amazing place, very clean, well maintained, all of the staff members are super nice and friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is just wonderful. We stayed in a cottage, I would say the cottage is perfect for 4 persons and has all you need. I took antibacterial wipes just in case to wipe surfaces in the house but actually everything looked and felt so clean that I didn't even use them. When a cleaning team was working in a cottage next to ours they asked if we needed any supplies or anything at all, it was so nice and friendly! We really enjoyed everything here, our kids had amazing time and tried lots of new activities. The swim lake lifeguard was great and very caring! I hope we will come back! Thank you for the great experience.
