We stayed at campsite 5, Juno loop with a 20' camper trailer.
Pros:
The trailer pad was quite level which is a nice plus.
Reasonable site spacing and decent views despite the lake not being in view.
Very friendly and helpful camp host.
The bike trip across the damn was a unique and interesting ride.
The beach area is a plus and great for a beach excursion.
A very good value.
The no wake rule for the lake was a nice touch making things very peaceful.
The 2:00pm check-in and check-out time was unusual but I liked it.
Cons:
The water hookup was way too far away from the trailer pad requiring a longer hose than most people carry.

Be sure you arrive when the registration office is open. I was stuck in Santa Fe with no open campgrounds at 10pm. Recreation.gov allowed me to make a reservation for that night and collected their fee, but when I got there around 11pm, the gate was locked and I wound up parking outside it overnight. The campground itself was very nice. the rangers and other attendants were friendly and helpful, and the spot was level (always a plus IMNSHO) but I've never run into a campground before that you literally could not get into after hours. Everything else allowed you to go to your reserved spot and check in the next morning.

The staff was accommodating and the campground nice. The restroom on Juniper Loop was closed which made our stay just ok.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
