What Guests Are Saying

Six Flags Darien Lake offers a fun experience with a solid collection of roller coasters, enjoyable food, and a fantastic nighttime show. The park is undergoing improvements, which are promising, despite some challenges from past over-expansion and management changes. While some visitors have reported issues with staff and seasonal pass confusion, many still cherish their memories and plan to return yearly for the enjoyable atmosphere and attractions.

This establishment is a good theme park outside of Rochester and Buffalo. I love roller coasters and this park has all the controversial ones, but they do not disappoint! The concession prices are average for a theme park, and the place is always filled with cheer and laughter!

I've been going to the park almost my entire life. It is no secret, that the investments have dried up in the last 20 years, but Premier Parks/Six Flags were expanding all of their parks at unrealistic rates in the late 90s and early 2000s. Darien Lake was a product of that. Too much expansion in too short of a time.

Today, it is evident that that is what has happened to the park. There was too much for a small park to keep up with. Add on consistent management changes and you get the Darien Lake of today. Good collection of rides, good food, fantastic night time show, but an overall vibe that the park is run down and not cohesive.

There is a lot of work going in to the park, including work on Predator and Mind Eraser, a few new rides and waterslides being added. But again, there was just so much neglected for so long, it will take a very long time for the park to catch up. The changes are noticeable and very good.

The concert venue, campground, and hotel on site are also huge bonuses that aren't offered at many parks.

If you understand the history of the park and accept the fact that the park will never see an addition on the scale of Ride of Steel again, you can properly set your expectations and have a fantastic time here. I will always visit at least once a year because it is overall a great experience!

what an amazing amusement park!!! went for the first time today and it was so fun. personally, i think predator or boomerang were the best rides. but they’re all so fun! the fright night was super scary - the haunted house was truly terrifying!! such a fun experience 🙌

Don’t get your hope up for fright fest! My friend and I went this past weekend for fright fest, and the scare zones were lacking very badly. We never once had an actor try and scare us. We went in multiple different zones more than once and never had an encounter with one of the actors, I can say the decorations were very cool but that’s about it just a regular day at Darien lake.i would also like to mention the staff at the food stands terrible attitude, this isn’t the first time I’ve came and had to deal with rude employees for no reason. I understand the lines get long sometimes trust me I’ve worked in food before but that’s no excuse you know what you sign up for.

I have been going to this theme park for over 20 years. I have been buying season passes for my family of 6 for the last 6 years and we have always had a great time until today. When we bought our season passes they said the expiration date was January 1, 2026 and I know this for sure because we took screen shots of them. Today, when we tried to enter the parking lot, to our surprise the attendant informed us that our season passes had expired and that many people have been complaining about that. So they allowed us to enter the parking lot without paying the ridiculous $30 fee but said we would have to talk to customer relations. There was a line at customer relations and many other people were complaining that their passes were no longer valid. We approached the employee calmly to explain the situation and that we had proof. He then rudely told us that the website says that the Silver passes expired on 9/1. As if they didn't change the expiration date on the website. We were then given the choice to either pay $20 per person to renew the passes for the rest of the season (which would only be 2 more weekends and most of the rides seemed to be closed) or pay $65 per person which would be valid from now until the end of 2026 season. We showed him the screenshots and he didnt even acknowledge them. He ignored us and just kept stating that the website says it expired on 9/1 and we could pay $20 or $65. Granted those are reasonable prices tricking people to buy new season passes is not okay. We will not be back again.
