What Guests Are Saying
Potomac Group Campground offers a spacious and well-maintained site with easy access to hiking trails and a lovely pond. The clean, seemingly new bathrooms and well-equipped dining area with benches and picnic tables enhance the experience. It’s a hidden gem that was a great find for the Boy Scout troop, and they look forward to returning.

Very spacious and well maintained campsite. Easy access to several hiking trails, and nice pond. Clean bathrooms, seemed to be new. Benches around fire pit and covered concrete pad with several picnic table made a nice dining area. This was a hidden gem and a nice find for our Boy Scout troop, we hope to be back.

What a wonderful location, well worth needing to carry in our gear! Big open fields, beautiful treed spots, big covered picnic area, nice fire pits, and really clean vault toilets! On top of that, Matt (the Park Ranger) was great, and stopped in to check on us on the first day!

This was a beautiful campsite, however the gate at the entrance to the site was locked, so we could not drive the half mile from the parking lot to get to the campsite. This site was not listed as a hike-in site, and there had clearly been cars there recently because we saw fresh car tracks in the dirt. The gate was simply not unlocked for us on the day of our reservation which made the camping experience much less enjoyable. The details on the site are skimpy, I would have loved to know more about the site before packing and camping here.
It is a lovely site, far removed from anything so it’s nice to be isolated, but we had no idea it would be a single campsite in the middle of the woods-thought it’s be part of a larger campground with a ranger or someone helpful to let us in.
The site has ample grassy spots for tents, vault toilets, a charcoal grill, a pavilion with several picnic tables under it and hooks for hanging lanterns. This would have been 5/5 if the gate had been unlocked and the listing were better detailed.
