A beautifully preserved modernist landmark and a must-visit for anyone who loves design or architecture. The shifting reflections, textures, and sightlines really stayed with me. We went on a Friday, but if you choose to go during the weekend, you will have to book a bit in advance as the tickets go quickly.

The tour was great! Our host gave an indepth history of the creation and ideas behind the formation of the Glass House and surrounding buildings. It's heartwarming to know this very special group of structures is going to be around for a long time. Buy tickets ahead of time. The tours accommodate up to 13 people and you will be shuttled to the site in a van.

The Glass House is the ultimate minimalist’s dream home. While simple, one can imagine the sunsets and scenes during changes in seasons. They do offer sunset tours. The Brick House contains my dream reading room with its circular window. The gallery, library, and other buildings and sculptures are worth visiting as well. The artwork that Phillip Johnson collected were massive! I recommend the self-guided tour so that you can ask questions to your heart’s content and have plenty of time to explore and enjoy. The staff are very knowledgeable and eager to answer your questions. The Glass House is not open all year round! Check the website and read the rules!

The overall experience of this iconic compound is good and best understood on the self-guided tour with interactions with the docents at each structure.

It’s better if you don’t dwell on the fact that Philip Johnson was an actual Nazi-supporter who gleefully stole his best ideas from other, better architects. Go to Fallingwater instead.

This is a phenomenal site fillled with architectural history and mixed media collections. The 49 acre site is stunning and the self-guided educators a joy! Free and easy parking on Sundays!
