Medcalf Acres Riverfront Campground

We just spent our stay at Medcalf Acres Riverfront Campground, and it exceeded our expectations. The campground is beautiful, clean, and well maintained, with a great family-friendly atmosphere and plenty to do. The riverfront setting makes it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Adirondacks.

The highlight of our stay was Mike. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to lend a hand with a smile. It's clear he genuinely cares about the campground and wants every guest to have a great experience.

Outstanding customer service can make all the difference, and Mike is a huge asset to Medcalf Acres. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for a relaxing, welcoming place to camp. Five stars!

We had a great stay. Poor guys were working their butts off after the storm damage that occurred just before we got there.
Sites are nice - you're not looking in your neighbors window if you open your rear window shades. The campsite is great, right on the Schroon River. Schroon lake is less than a 10 minute drive. They have game rooms and a barroom-sized pool table.
Theres any kind of hiking trail nearby. We took the very easy Gull Pond walk, since one kid only remembered to wear Crocs. There are intense hikes as well
Mike was great too: made us feel welcome: helped us out with anything without question.
Id return for sure.

I’m here for the season and it’s just so peaceful and clean. People just enjoying the wilderness and Adirondacks. Having the Scroon River right by my site is perfect. I’d definitely come back here. The maintenance guy does a fantastic job !

We stayed there early June 2026. The place is very pretty and quiet (which we like) A lot of trees, activities for the kids, beach near the river, few minutes to the town. Staff (i think it was karl) is very approachable and helpful. Shower and toilet is clean. Definitely a place to check out. We will definitely come back.

I am super late but I’m going again this summer and wanted to add a review and photos from our last visit a few years ago. We had the time of our lives here I have a mixed race family and was worried but at no point did any of us feel out of place!!! The owner handed out glow bracelets and encouraged the kids to run wild and free until all hours of the night as long as they stayed away from the water at night. I don’t know what to say to express how amazing our time was here!!! As long as everyone is respectful and family oriented you will fit right in and feel so so incredibly welcomed! We haven’t been back due to family loses but this yer we are in there like swimware absolutely will never camp anywhere else! Amazing weekend activities amazing staff and owners you will feel like family here and it’s so worth it!!!!
