Restroom had very little water to flush toilets. Showers were off. No notice was there when I registered. Other than that it was good.

Nice convenient campground.
It would have been nice to know that the regular toilets and showers were not working when we arrived to select a campsite. Probably would have chosen another facility.

We were there after the campground facilities were shut off. No water available and only one vault toilet was unlocked. The trash dumpster was full and stinking to high heavens. We had to register and pay our fee using the QR code at the kiosk. Cell coverage was very poor from our provider (Verizon). It took a bit of patience but it worked.

The campground is conveniently located just off I-94, but highway noise was not an issue for us. It provides easy access to Theodore Roosevelt National Park and the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. Sites are nice, paved, and most have at least some shade.
The campground has two loops—one with reservable sites and the other with first-come, first-served sites. EXCEPT… after Labor Day, when all sites become first-come, first-served. This is not clearly communicated at the campground (although it is noted on Recreation.gov), and the reservable loop has permanent “Reserved” signs on each site-number post. Unfortunately, we watched many RVs drive through looking for a site, only to leave apparently thinking the sites were reserved, when in fact more than 70% were open and went unused for the three nights we stayed.
We would definitely stay here again.
If you’re planning to visit the newly opened Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, buy your tickets in advance. Admission is by timed entry, and it appears that many days sell out. We had 1:30 p.m. tickets, were able to get in about 15 minutes early, and stayed until closing at 4:00 p.m. We enjoyed it and would have liked to have had even more time.

This campground is located just off the interstate and a few short miles west of Medora. There are two loops, Mandan and Hidatsa. Mandan has about 20 sites, under trees, and is reservable. The Hidatsa loop is closer to the Interstate and first come first served. When I stayed there, the Mandan loop was about half full, while the Hidatsa loop looked full or close to. IMO, the Mandan loop is nicer and certainly quieter. I was in site 4, which is close to a flush toilet and a shower house! The host is on the ball and very helpful.

Initially reserved a site, but upon arrival found that we would not fit. Found one in the unreserved section that fit our set up. Host was very helpful and accommodating. The lanes and paved sights are very narrow, with most having ditches on each side of the entry into them. Most sights are not flat. No hook ups, but a couple bathrooms and showers available. Having said that once you’re settled the campsites are very spacious and private. Very quiet area. Close to Medora, the TR Presidential Library and of course the National Parks. Planned on two nights, stayed for nine. We enjoyed our stay.
