We stopped here on our way back to Ohio from a 108 mile paddle along the Upper Missouri in Montana. The group campsite at Cottonwood was perfect for our group of 12 campers, and visiting TRNP was a beautiful ending for our trip. The campsite includes a private shelter house w/ 3 picnic tables -- I hadn't read about it, so it was a nice surprise! The campground was quiet and the bathrooms were clean. The water was potable but not the best tasting. Several bison paid a visit to the campsite in the morning.

While the bathrooms are in the process of being upgraded, the existing bathrooms are dark, lack showers and the new bathrooms don't appear to big enough to have showers.

Beautiful site. The bathrooms were a bit of a hike, but worth it! We can’t wait to come back and visit our prairie dog pals.
