The campground was conveniently located, and sites in the south loop were right-sized for tents and small RVs. The bathroom was heated, which was nice on mid-40 degree June mornings. A juvenile bison meandered through a couple times, which was fun.

We had site 043 and it was disappointing to say the least. In no way should that site be advertised as a camping site. It's a picnic site at best. We reserved with a 15-foot trailer, pulled up and it's a concrete parking lot with various spots and no way to park on the grass or set up anything on the grass. Hosts never offered to put us somewhere else or help out, in fact they said it was a good site for camper trailers when we checked in. Wish I had gone up there after seeing the site and ask for something else. However, they should've seen what I pulled up with a recommended an alternative. It should never be allowed to be reserved as a camping spot.

Bison right in the site multiple times which made routes to the facilities interesting. Great experience.

Cottonwood is a wonderful place to camp. Easy to get to yet very quiet and secluded. Amazing views and up close encounters with bison (be careful with your spacing and give them room). Absolutely beautiful badlands experience!

We really enjoyed the campground! We saw a lot of wildlife and enjoyed the nightly presentation by “Barb” the campground host! My one negative is, compared to other campgrounds in National Parks these bathrooms need better cleaning. Other than that I would recommend the stay!

This is a very nice campground. The sites had lots of space between neighbors and very well maintained. The camp host is wonderful
