Cottonwood Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful experience with spacious, well-maintained sites and clean facilities. Many visitors enjoyed the close encounters with bison and the serene natural surroundings, making it a great spot for wildlife enthusiasts. While some noted issues with insects and site leveling, the overall atmosphere and friendly camp hosts contributed to a memorable stay.

Same as 30 years ago. Except the bison herd spent a few night in the campground itself. Up close and personal.

Cottonwood Campground was a great, cheap place for my friend and I to stay for the night. We went to the Medora Musical that night and were able to easily pack up the next morning before hiking in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Be aware, bison come through the campsite so be smart about that.
