Sites were clean, hosts were helpful, and it was quiet 😊. Just wish the campground had a dump station. Great location inside TRNP and close to Medora’s restaurants, shop, TR Presidential Library, and Medora Musical.

The wild horses coming in at night was cool, but this campgroundia busy and the sites are pretty close together. Also, someone had moved the table at my site (site 68) close to the road, so I was close to all the traffic and neighbors around me basically all the time when I went there to get away from people. I picked site 68 because I liked the layout as it was pictured with the table far from the road. Lastly, if you get site 68, don't put your tent under the trees because they drip brown liquid. It comes off with water, but it was a little alarming. One good thing was that I wasn't far from water or the bathroom because there are a lot of spigots around and the restrooms are in the middle of everything.

Nice campground with good tree cover. Small creek to splash around in and grass cover at the site. Able to collect firewood around the site and have nice campfires. Unfortunately, there were no showers available within the campground.

This site had a path leading to the river. The camp hosts were accessible.

Parking was a little challenging with my 16 foot travel trailer. Host was great to chat with upon arrival. No dump sight but fresh water available. Quiet area with lots of wildlife. Hiking close to campground.

Cottonwood is a great campsite. The sites are all fairly private, with a great amount of space. The restrooms were very clean and nice and accessible. There aren’t a lot of amenities, but we knew that and it was very peaceful and comfortable. We loved our stay there.

Of all the sites in our loop ours was probably the one that needed the most leveling. On the positive side, the sites were well spaced out and the clean restrooms were within easy walking distance. For entertainment all you need is patience because on several occasions we had bison wandering through our loop and in one case through our campsite.
