We had a wet tent to set up, so that was a deterrent on our part. I'm also not sure if I made a mistake on selecting the site or what exactly happened, but the site we were assigned was a walk in site. It had poured while we were at the visitor center and the site was inaccessible when we got there so we did not actually camp.

This campground was super cool! It has excellent views of wildlife, the badlands, and the Little Missouri River. It was quiet and clean. The campground host was very friendly and knowledgeable.

I'm giving 4/5 stars because we wish we had been warned beforehand that bison can and do frequently wander through the campsites! It was pretty scary staying in a tent with bison roaming around, and not being able to move around after dark safely made our stay challenging.

My camping site was right next to the main road passing through the campground so was more traffic.
The campground is nice and quiet. Excellent restroom facilities with flush toilets and sinks with running water. Lots of sources of drinking water and decent shade. Very convenient for visiting the park.

Loved our site at Cottonwood, it was spacious and had a beautiful view where we enjoyed watching the moon rise over the hills. Bathrooms were very clean. Our only complaint is that there is no dump station at Cottonwood.

Very quiet campground, clean restrooms (although my technology deficient husband couldn't figure out the hand drier)! I don't recommend a parallel parking site in the North Loop as it is a one-way road and it's hard to get a camper far enough off the road to use an awning. The Roosevelt Presidential Library is a must see! Spend the extra money and take the guided tour!
