Cottonwood Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful experience with spacious, well-maintained sites and clean facilities. Many visitors enjoyed the close encounters with bison and the serene natural surroundings, making it a great spot for wildlife enthusiasts. While some noted issues with insects and site leveling, the overall atmosphere and friendly camp hosts contributed to a memorable stay.

When we arrived at our campsite after the 12 pm check in time, we found our site still had a camper in it with no one around. Eventually the camp host came over and was able to find us a different site to stay in. It was a larger pull through site. So I would like to thank them. The new bathrooms were very nice. The park is beautiful in the fall.

The campground was ok, our site was a shared with a half circle drive through and kind of out in the open. Maybe I read the description wrong but it was an interesting set up, vault toilets were very rustic but did the job. Loved that our site was close to a flat grassy area that led to the little Missouri River and view of the rock formation. Was able to enjoy peaceful walks and saw horses and a buffalo on the ridge. Other sites seemed to provide more privacy and overall a nice place.

Such a beautiful campground within the park, made it easy to meander on the trails and rode through the park to see wildlife. The campground was spacious, and the facilities were very clean and new looking. The host was very friendly, but not intrusive. The setting for the campground was quite beautiful within the park and I felt very immersed in the majesty of TRNP.

Nice campground! Sites are generally spacious and well spaced, and convenient to Roosevelt National Park and Medora. There for only 2 nights, it was a good experience and I recommend you give it a try.

Well spaced sites, this one with a beautiful view. Got to watch a buffalo just the right distance away while drinking our coffee outside at sunrise.

This was a beautiful campground with spacious, wooded sites. The restrooms were very clean. They are flush toilets, sinks with running water and electric outlets. Additionally, there were Bison, wild turkeys and deer right in the campground and surrounding meadows.
