What Guests Are Saying

Rye Camp offers a charming atmosphere with welcoming owners who provide thoughtful touches, like treats for guests. While adverse weather conditions led to a muddy campsite experience for some, causing difficulties with parking and luggage, others enjoyed their stay and were pleased with the friendly wildlife nearby. Overall, the camp may be more enjoyable during drier conditions, and improvements could enhance the experience during rainy periods.

Very disappointed with our experience. The campsite was extremely muddy after the recent rain, with standing water throughout the grass and low areas around the site. The location of the tent itself seems poorly positioned for wet weather, which made the stay uncomfortable and difficult to enjoy.

Another family apparently did not show up because of the muddy conditions, so the owner moved us into a larger tent. While that was appreciated, it also confirmed that other guests were having the same concerns.

One of the biggest issues was the parking situation. The parking area is quite far from the campsite, and carrying luggage and supplies through deep mud was extremely difficult and frustrating. In dry weather this might be manageable, but under muddy conditions it became a major problem.

We ended up leaving after only one night even though we paid for two nights because the conditions were simply not enjoyable for glamping. The owner refused to offer any partial refund or credit and mainly referred us back to the optional weather guarantee policy.

Honestly, I seriously think they should reconsider taking bookings during very muddy/rainy periods or improve drainage around the campsites. This may be a much better experience during dry seasons, but our experience was not worth the cost.

This was the cutest place! Such wonderful people! The owners brought us welcoming treats for opening weekend! It did rain a bit but not for long. Enjoyed our stay and even had an evening conversation with the Turkey and peacock near the camp! Will be returning!

I took my girlfriend for her birthday Saturday and Sunday and we absolutely loved every bit of it. The evenings are peaceful and quiet and the fire is warm. We stayed in aster with a king sized bed a couple chairs and a table. We cooked over the fire with a cast iron skillet and made steaks and potatoes brats with onions and peppers. There are games at each site, and we left a frisbee for cuter campers. We will most definitely be back soon and we may have found our little get away. I can not stress enough how peaceful it is. The people that run it are good and honest people just sharing their love of the outdoors with everybody else. The prices are quite reasonable especially because you don’t have to haul a tent or bedding or chairs or nothing. All you gotta bring is some cloths food beverages and a good attitude and you will have the time of your life. Hands down 10/10.
We were the only ones there for our two days and wandered around and all the other areas are just as adorable and welcoming as aster.
Give this place a try and I’m pretty sure you will love it just as much as we did.

Rye Camp is amazing! My husband and I brought our dog and had the best time during our one-night stay in one of the canvas tents. The grounds are beautiful with plenty to explore, and the amenities were wonderful.

My family and I had a wonderful getaway at this hidden gem! It’s close to home (Dayton) but feels worlds away! Even though there were other visitors we felt like we had the whole campground to ourselves - a major plus! The Rye Camp Team thought of everything down to a S’Mores Kit and pizza delivery! Glamping but getting away from it all! It’s on our list for this year!
