What Guests Are Saying
Vinton County Fairgrounds offers enjoyable activities, particularly for families, such as a dirtbike track and events like the Bigfoot festival, where visitors appreciate the ample parking and cleanliness of restrooms. However, the campground faces significant issues, including poorly maintained facilities, lack of proper amenities, and cleanliness concerns. While the location has potential with good tree cover and a quiet atmosphere, many reviewers feel it needs considerable improvements to enhance the camping experience.

This campground needs a lot of love. I will list the bad and good.
Bad things:
1. First off it was very confusing.
2. There was no check in or camp store.
3. We had a 30 amp camper spot that was covered in trash when we got there.
4. The spot itself looks like it was blacktop at one point, but the neglect has turned into rubble…extremely uneven rubble that can twist an ankle real easily.
5. The camp spots are tighter than a fastened bolt on the space station. Right on top of each other .
6. Bathrooms and showers were disgusting and not looked after at all. Evidenced by the fact we were there for 4 days so we watched it in real time. See # 7 about the # 2’s bc they were there the whole time!
7. Human feces on the floor and wall of mens bathroom (and a human turd right outside of the bathroom).
8. So many flies!!!!! Everywhere. SEND IN THE FROGS!
9. Nowhere to place your trash at the end of the night. We had to find a bin by the south entrance (good long walk).
10. Lots of bright lights stay on in the fairgrounds all night. (Light pollution)
Good things:
1. Good tree cover
2. Your on the fairgrounds basically
3. Quiet
In conclusion, this is a poorly managed campground that is in need of some serious maintenance, improvements and love.

Campsites has no fire rings, picnic tables, showers never cleaned the whole time we was there, tents sites not marked and it’s very hilly had a hard time finding a flat place to put up the tent, had to call quite a lot before he picked up the phone. The flys where overwhelming. You’re paying for a place to put up a tent in a field it’s not a campsite. Will not be returning my advance go to Campbell Cove! Would not even give this a one star! Picture is the only flat ground there next to the building. Not worth the money!!

Enjoyed this place. Was there for Bigfoot festival. Plenty of parking and clean restrooms. They have a camp ground on site, including full hook up for RVs. And you can explore the Hocking Hills area too.

My kids love to ride the dirtbike track here. It is nice that you can fill out the waiver online, pay online, and have a good place to ride.
