Iron Ridge - Lake Vesuvius

We loved the simplicity of iron ridge. Our campsite was 031 and it had so much space away from others and was so close to the trail. Bring sanitizer or your own hand soap though. There was a none in our bathroom.

Campground was clean and well groomed. The restrooms were kept clean and stocked by the hosts. Showers were clean and had plenty of warm water. I enjoyed hiking down to the lake each day but it was too cold to swim. Enjoyed my stay and there were plenty of trees to hang my hammock on. I will return.

Love this campground spots are very private. Will return soon.

Will definitely be back...Only reason four stars, is because of Thunderstorms so we couldn't stay (Pooch)...Once again, we'll definitely be back

On site 17 the electric didn't work. And there wasn't a camp station we would ask about it. The ranger station isn't open on the weekend so that made it difficult too. Also on the check-in instructions, the site website, and reminder email, I was reminded not being came fire wood into the park (which I respect whole heartily), however when arriving to the park, there was not a single place to purchase the fire wood that we could find. Our neighbor campers actual just went into the wood to get fire wood. The campground host was also mia so we could ask for their assistance. Overall, the actual campground was lovely, shaded, and quiet but some house keeping items were lack luster.

What a gem in southern Ohio. We choose to utilize the campsites this year on an annual "back-to-school" backpacking trip with our kids. We loved the facilities and the camp hosts. They were amazing! The showers and bathrooms were the best we have seen at any campground, and the hosts made sure our stay was unforgettable. Highly recommend and we look forward to visiting again.

We loved the well maintained campground. So it was quiet & relaxing.
