What Guests Are Saying

Oak Hill - Lake Vesuvius offers a clean and well-maintained environment, with shaded sites that provide a relaxing camping experience. Many visitors appreciate the friendly hosts, the spacious layout of the campsites, and the availability of hiking and biking opportunities. However, the lack of water in the lake and some maintenance issues, such as cold showers and overgrown trails, detracted from the experience for some campers.

We had a perfect 10 day trip. It was quiet and beautiful. The trees had no leaves when we arrived, but were leafed out by the time we left. We love site 29 and have reserved it for the entire camping season! It got cold the last 2 days we were there, but I could find no fault in the weather.

We enjoy staying at Oak Hill every year. Great campground to walk. We walk around Two Points where there is a bat house. If you walk up there around dusk, you will find no mosquitoes as the bats scarf them up! The sites are private. We have met so many people on our stays at Oak Hill over the years. It’s a great campground!

We’ve been going out to “the lake “ all our lives. We got into camping about 20 years ago. This was a get acquainted with our new fifth-wheel trip. I’m a little let down that there are no sewer hookups any more. I have a feeling that the long term campers are just running their sewage down the hill. Both campgrounds show the upgrades they made a few years ago. No site is on top of another with lots of space to spread out. If you look around you can find wood already cut and split. The host keeps it neat as a pin and is always available. We definitely will be back next year as the season is almost over.
Thank you

The Frazer family

We were at Site 23. This is a very nice location - at the end of the loop. Lots of room and very quiet, especially if no one is using the pull off site #22. The only reason I am not rating this a 5 star is that the shower house closest to us did not have hot water. The other one did, so it was not much of a problem.
The site is a bit of a slope, with the front being high, I had to use an extra block on our rear jacks to get us leveled. But, again it was not too excessive.
Very close to the hiking trail from this site.

My favorite campground, campsites are spaced out where you're not on top of another camper. Quiet at night, a relaxing experience.
