We’ve stayed at Lighthouse Point many times over the years. We love the proximity to the park and early access to the park.
Cedar point is under new ownership this year. This review will only include lighthouse point specific feedback to be fair.
We did not receive the email with the barcode or QR code that is needed to access the backside of the park with our car, not even after asking for it and confirming our email address. No big deal, minor inconvenience. Rooms were what we expect - nice and cool, mostly clean. When I checked out, I was told to move my car to the front of the park to make room for other guests. Mind you, the parking lot at the check in and parking around the cabins was about 30-40% occupied. Moving to the front of the park would have put me much further from the park and my family was in the park near the back. I could have walked but why ask guests to do this? I shouldn’t have checked out I guess - I should have just left my keys in the cabin and left my car where it was. The lady said that security would ticket cars who stayed past 11am checkout but security seems to be understaffed so not sure about that. We’ve never been asked to move to the front of the park after checking out. Seems to be an effective way to diminish customer satisfaction.

So when I look at the ratings is mainly good ones for the camper sites where they bring their own RVs but let me tell you these cabins are so over priced spent almost $1000.00 for 3 nights and said it slept 10 lol oh and 3 bedrooms no 1 tiny no dresser having bedroom and 2 crawl spaces. I know it says loft style but for who 3 ft tall people. I'm 4"11 and had to bend and touch my toes to be up there. And the bathrooms yes there is two back to back but small as heck it would be better just to make one bigger comfortable one. Now let's talk about the pollen everywhere and the bugs. I know it's cabin but they are literally a curtain of bugs. Oh wifi is slow and air conditioning stays at 68-70 which might be ok but was told goes down to 62 my husband has PTSD and needs the air cool to keep him at peace. They do have a heated pool and hot tub so that's ok. The walk from the cabin to the park is the only good part. Oh and bring your own blankets because all we had was sheets which for my husband was fine since he was uncomfortable and hot but I like a little blanket. Lots of towels and you just put your trash out and they pick it up so that's a plus but for the money do not recommend.

Some of my review actually has nothing to do with the resort itself… we went unknowingly during mayfly season and they were BAD! Swarms all over making it extremely difficult to sit outdoors and enjoy the campsite experience and the bathhouses were covered making it hard to shower. Make sure to read the site amenities- I missed that the site we rented did not have a fire pit- we were suppose to bring our own (again not their fault). I’m sure the grounds would have been more enjoyable had we actually been able to get out and enjoy. Shuttle runs to Cedar Point and early entry is awesome. The little cabins on the water look cute. Again- this review is more to let people know to check into mayfly season before coming!

These are absolutely perfect for couples, or a family of 3. They’re pretty basic, but the view is wonderful. Very very clean. Large hot tub and pool. $3 laundry wash / dry. Showers plentiful.
I would recommend bringing large trash bags as they’re collected on the curb. Grill sites are standard park type, would maybe think about a cooper grill mat.
The self loading laker shows up around 9am ish most mornings, very cool!!! Coal keeps the lights on (;

Probably one of the better campgrounds you can go to. Super clean bathrooms and the grounds were kept up really nice. Water attachment was hard because it's mounted right against the power pedestal but it's doable. Just take your time and be patient. Took me a minute to realize I had to take my pressure regulator off my hose first and then put everything on. Sites weren't too close. Quiet except for the park which is to be expected but just know that until midnight or whenever they close, you're going to be hearing the coasters. Be early for check in. Gets busy on Friday.
