The shelter house was clean when we arrived. The ranger who stopped in to be sure we were aware of the rules was very polite. Our only problem was the major storm that rolled through about 11:15 a.m. and there is no way that the Corp of Engineers or Recreation.gov could control Mother Nature. We will plan to be back next summer.

Area was clean and neat upon my arrival. Shelter house is right on the lake if you are interesting in fishing. short walk from parking lot and clean restrooms are very close.
Close to Wittenberg University and Clark State.

As usual the prairie view shelter house was clean when we arrived. An employee did check the trash bins during the day to be sure that they were not over-flowing. I did not personally use the restrooms but was told by a member of our party that there was no soap for hand washing. (I was shocked in light of the publicity all during the pandemic was to wash hands frequently.) Luckily I had taken hand soap and plastic tubs so we made our own hand washing station inside the shelter house. Otherwise, it was a great day for our family reunion.

We were very happy with the site. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that the reserve sign was not put up and we had to ask people
to leave the shelter. Fortunately I had paperwork and the people cooperated.
