Our site B001 was unfortunately fully in the sun the whole day, and extremely hot. It was sadly so so hot with no place to find shade. The bathrooms were ok, but there was no ventilation in the showers so it was like a sauna. Difficult to breathe in there. It was also a very long walk to the bathroom.
It was also a bummer that the playground was very far from our site. Our kids never got to play, as we would have drive them there.
Bugs were a big issue. Ants were all over including fire ants. My kids were covered head to toe in bug bites and were miserable.
On the plus side, the beach was nicely maintained and had a great place for kids to swim. You have to drive there, as it’s a bit far to walk. We had a lot of fun there.

People in B20 wanting to use our electricity. We told them no. Still a lot of glass in the campsites and beach. We pick up when we see it. Park Hosts are great! Really appreciate them. Other than that, all is great.

I have been going to Burns run west since I was a young kid with my parents. Now I'm taking my kids. Great place to teach kids values of nature. The roads, sites, and everything else is great. Appreciate the rangers continous patrols.

This is such a beautiful campground with lots of shade and plenty of water access. Locked after 10pm. Camp hosts are extremely nice and welcoming. Several convenience stores close by and some amazing small town cafes’ like Farmstead!

The showers are the worst I’ve ever seen in a core of engineers park. No ventilation and huge nests of bugs in each. I watched over and over campers going through each shower to find one that was ok to shower in. The sites were located overlooking the lake which was pretty but the shower situation outweighed the lake view
