There was never anyone at the gate ever the entire time we were there. It would have been nice to get a map of the sites when we arrived as that was the first time we had ever been at this campground.
Also, I dislike the gates being locked at 10 pm and the park does not give the guests a combination. We were there visiting old friends and got back after 10. To me this is very inconvenient and not guest friendly...to have a curfew of 10 pm. We are 69 years old and would like to stay out after 10 pm.

Poor, creepy, experience. People look like they are living in this campground. Couldn’t see our site behind the live in “campers” with all their vehicles, campers and pop up shelters. A herd of cats surrounded us when we finally found and pulled into our site, odd when you plan to tent camp. Tried to find another open site to pay for in order to get away from the people living here (and their herd of felines) and were run off the road/penned in by an aggressive man who thinks he owns the campground. Did not identify himself as the on-site campground attendant or anything, just an aggressive, territorial, vigilante type. Armed I’m sure, so it was time to leave the PUBLIC CAMPGROUND. Gates closed an hour earlier than posted in this description on recreation.gov, glad we could even find out way out. Signage was non-existent and also hard to see the branching roads or site markers in the dark winter evenings. Not exactly the camping near the lake experience I was looking forward to. Thanks for all the help vigilante man, your cats are all safe from us now.

From Eufaula, Oklahoma, take Highway 69N to the OK-150 exit toward Texanna Road/State Park/Lake Eufaula.Turn right onto E1140 Rd/Texanna Rd. Travel east for 2 miles, turn right onto Belle Starr Rd/Northsouth 420, travel south for 2 miles and you will arrive at Belle Starr Campground.
The campground is accessible via US Highway 69, which is approximately 10 miles to the west.

General
- October-March there are no gate attendants on duty, a volunteer will make rounds and check in/out campers. If you need assistance please call the Eufaula Project Office 918-799-5843
- Gates open at 6AM and close at 10PM. Camping is permitted in designated campsites only. Each campsite is limited to 1 wheeled camping unit with up to 3 tents. Camping is limited to 14 consecutive days within any 30 day period. Campers must occupy the campsite at least once during each 24 hour period. Each campsite may not have its own water spigot, some share with adjacent sites consequently you may need extra hose to reach, we apologize for the inconvenience. Campers shall keep their sites free of trash and litter during the period of occupancy and shall remove all personal equipment and clean their sites upon departure. Fires must be contained within the fire ring or grill provided. These are NOT trash receptacles, please leave them free of food and litter upon departure. Bathrooms are closed and winterized from November 1st - March 31st.
