The staff was friendly, the grounds well maintained and the campsites are ideally situated with excellent views of the lake.

Loved Belle Star - Would have given it a 5 except for the older bathrooms are very rusty (this can be taken care of) and the toliet's in the older restroom in the center loop were push button and I could not get them to flush.

our first tip out in years, everything is new, and the person at the gate was very helpful with everything.

This is another great state park that, although a bit of a drive off the interstate, is, in our estimation, certainly worth it. We travel in a 45' coach towing a jeep. When you pull in as a camper, go left past the ranger house to the visitors center to check in. There is RV parking on the left. We were in area "C", site 56 which gives you your own area but that is no slight to the other sites, most of which were plenty long with plenty of RV-2-RV spacing. There are a good number of lakeside spots. Just make sure you tell the reservation folks how big your RV is because some of the sites, though level, have a level section that is only large enough for a shorter vehicle.

Utilities were located where they should be. Water was not soft, tasted great, and pressure was very good. And the electricity - it was electrifying.

You can ride you bicycles here, tour the area around the visitor center, which is obviously an old site that has been upgraded....very neat features. And certainly take a hike out of "C" area (I almost wrote C Section) to the waterfall. There is a short and long way. It is very much worth it. Bring your water shoes, walk right in anywhere, right at the foot of the falls, and take pics.....or frolic in the water if the spirit moves you.

We did no touring except at the park but everyone who goes here knows that Hot Springs is ready and waiting for you....just a short drive.

Do yourself and your loved ones a favor and visit. And please do not pay any mind to any mention of the evil power plant on the other side of the lake. If it were not for the lights, I would say that it is abandoned. And at night, well I thought it cool enough, due to the beautiful reflection on the lake, to break out my tripod and shoot it.

A hidden gem. This State Park campground is kept immaculate and groomed. The sites are HUGE and several are handicap accessible. There are areas for close visiting and areas with wide distances from others. Bath houses are clean though older but not rundown, next to a fun looking playground, and all placed conveniently in the compound. Water pressure is good and power is reliable at 50 or 30amps. ATT cell is acceptable. . Nature trails off to one side are well marked. Almost all sites overlook the water of Lake Eufala. Nearby town has little to offer except for restocking provisions. Roads are asphalt (so no dust or mud) and sites are concrete: mostly level.
