We always enjoy Belle Starr. Host and volunteers are great. Our campsite badly needed mowed! Weeds were knee high during the 4th holiday..

No full hookup, camp grounds are not well kept, shower and restrooms are absolutely disgusting.

While I enjoyed the time away, the park needs work. Grass in the sites was around a foot tall. The hiking trails couldn’t be distinguished from the surrounding underbrush. If someone is needed to mow and maintain the trails. Maybe we can work something out. COE provides a mower and a tractor with brush hog. They can hire me to drive over and do the work.
Also, the breaker on my power pedestal kept tripping. I left a voice message with the COE office and told the camp host/ volunteer. No one came to look at it the entire time I was there.

We were in a pull through site across from the water. Site was clean and roomy with some shade.
Restrooms are old and kids tear them up not being supervised. Only saw host come through a couple times a day.

Stay was not bad except for the ants climbing all over you all the time

gatekeeper was great, our campsite was too narrow for our camper, she moved us to a different campsite that met our needs!

The grass was almost knee high I had to pay a lawn service to come mow 3 campsites and the other camper paid for his to be mowed

The park is pretty and in good shape. However, there's not much access to swim or get into the water except on a small beach. We found this inconvenient, at least with our pets.
