What a treasure! Stopped here for a quiet overnight stay and had no idea how lucky I was to have found Red Rock Canyon. The staff here is second to none. Ownership is doing a bang-up job, and is obviously high on hiring character. Everyone was polite, well-spoken and customer-centric.

The ladies in the front office helped me get situated and served up some delicious treats. And everywhere I looked, there were staff members readying the property for the coming summer season (book early!). It's very quiet here, well manicured and there are clean facilities throughout the property.

I owe a special shout-out to Jack, who jump-started my car during early morning hours (saving me a very long walk to town). What a lifesaver!

BONUS: I didn't learn about the history of the California Wagon Road until I stumbled across it, but that made for some fun exploration. Definitely grab one of this historical guides from the ice cream shop to see how the 49ers stopped at the canyon for respite during their journey.

I really can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s truly a one of a kind gem hidden an easy hour drive from OKC. If you need a quick escape to enjoy nature for a day this place has you covered. If you want a safe super clean place to camp, glamp, RV, or anything else, this is your spot.

We have 3 kids 5 and under plus 2 dogs and just finished a 3 day 2 night stay at the Happy Camper and had the best experience. The owners were kind and helpful and had everything we needed.

With the added coffee/icecream/sandwich shop up front this place has everything needed and more. Seriously, one of the most family friendly, dog friendly, fun well run places to adventure in Oklahoma.

If it’s been a while since you have been (it used to be a state park) it’s worth a trip back. The pool will be open in the summer, they will have movie nights and even horse back riding available.

Price is kinda high for noisy camping and a small bundle of firewood ($45 reserved online). But gorgeous regardless. They've done a lot of work to make it family friendly, but the nature remains mostly preserved. Lots of hiking trails, that are probably better marked than when it was a state park. Service was great, all the attendants were kind and helpful. Clean bathrooms at campsites, with some small litter throughout the horseshoe campground. Relatively this week, I imagine it'll get really busy here soon. Lots and lots of plant and animal life.

It was so relaxing! The employees were very friendly and informative about things going on around them. We did some hiking up in the horse shoe area and it was worth the climb. My niece and I cooked over the fire, enjoyed some needed time away from the city and that’s what we got.

Overall really nice and quiet, genuinely nice and caring owners. Lots of semi-rugged hiking (not walking) trails requiring some athleticism and dexterity- not for disabled people. Although very dog-friendly, the areas not paved contain many goatheads, so beware. Can easily accommodate large RV's and travel trailers, though the road down and out is quite tortuous and steep. Sites have electric and water with a communal dump station with tank flush, but no potable water, so fill your tank before leaving your site.
Would revisit in the future if the opportunity presented itself.
