The sites are spacious, wooded, and quiet. The bathrooms could use a bit of updating. Our site was level. Of course, I am not a fan of the "must reserve" system since it just jacks the cost up a bunch but what can you do. Overall, we would stay here again.

The Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge is a great place. Lots of wildlife, especially American bison. The campground was very nice. There are a limited number of sites with electricity. There are no sites with water or sewer connections. There are water stations near the bathhouses to fill your holding tanks. The park overall was very clean and natural in setting. There are great places to see nearby, including medicine, Park, and all amenities are available in nearby Lawton Oklahoma, about 20 to 25 miles away. The bike riding is excellent. We stuck to the paved roads, but just some really beautiful vistas and mountains and boulders. We will definitely go back. We have T-Mobile and there was absolutely no service whatsoever.

We have been coming to Camp Doris yearly for over twenty years. Always love it. This year, March 2023, the shower/ toilet was absolutely filthy. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Tried to contact the camp host but never got an answer to my knocks even though I heard noise in their rv. I told the woman at the gate but got no resolution.

Doris was a great experience. There was a lot of wildlife. They have fire wood and ice for sale at the entry. Bathrooms were clean. You’re in close quarters with other sites but our neighbors were very friendly. It’s not a long drive from medicine park or hiking spots. All around great experience and would highly recommend!

From I-44 take Highway 49 (exit 45). Go west 7 miles to the Refuge gate or 14 miles to the Visitor Center. If coming from Highway 62, take Highway 115 (Cache exit) north to the Refuge Gate.
Doris Campground is accessible via I-44 and Highway 49, with Highway 49 leading west for 7 miles to the Refuge gate. Additionally, Highway 62 is nearby, with Highway 115 providing access to the Refuge gate.
