The campgrounds, showers, restrooms were clean. We appreciate the staff came around twice to inform us of the status of an impending storm. The trails and park were awesome. One "Even Better If" label the potable water.

Bathrooms were far away and it was windy. Beautiful area though!

Being in the refuge camping makes Doris a unique campground experience. The nicely spaced sites provide a bit of privacy. The bathhouse had a backup issue during my stay and the maintenance man was very quick to resolve the issue, the bathhouse was clean and stocked. The multiple trails from the campground provided excellent opportunity to get steps in and see the beautiful landscape that the refuge has.

I know that the campground has to operate with volunteers, and I am appreciative of their willingness to help. I would say, though, that having someone in the front entry gate would be helpful. I know you operate on the Comanche County burn ban schedule, but it really detracts from the experience for me when you can't build a fire. But, overall, I have loved the Wichitas since I can' remember(I'm 73!) and I love the opportunity to stay out there.

The campsites are well spaced and shady, water is near by to fill fresh tank, and a dump station is available on the way out.
The bathrooms are maintained and clean as are the showers. The host was very friendly and helpful with questions.
A great place to camp in between hiking the trails which are spectacular and go from easy to difficult. I will continue to camp there as often as I can and would recommend !
