No water hookup, shared water point. Careful of the big rock backing in.
Spot is closest to the overflow parking, might have people walking thru.
You can glimpse some lake view but, mostly trees and its within walking distance to water. Don't expect to fish due to aquatic flora close to shore to snag the line on, especially for the little ones.
If you get this spot, next one is pretty close which is a plus and minus of its own... we didn't have neighbors so it was pretty quiet.
Overall, corner spot with decent hiking. Be back again.

Reason for staying at Doris Campground was to see a life bird called Black capped Vireo. We saw and photographed the bird!

The spot was okay, # 45. The days were perfect. The spots I wanted said they were reserved for all 3 days, but nobody showed up for them.

The campsites are fantastic, not close together and plenty of trees. Wildlife is everywhere bison, cattle, lizards, squirrels and birds. Elk mountain and the narrows are a must see. There are electrical hookups and a water station to fill the tank. Toilets and showers were well kept. Doris campground is a favorite.

We had someone falsely claiming to have booked our campsite when we arrived. Long story short…it wasn’t a good situation, but the camp hosts took care of it. We were appreciative of them for the help. Outside of that, this is a great place to camp and hike.

From I-44 take Highway 49 (exit 45). Go west 7 miles to the Refuge gate or 14 miles to the Visitor Center. If coming from Highway 62, take Highway 115 (Cache exit) north to the Refuge Gate.
Doris Campground is accessible via I-44 and Highway 49, with Highway 49 leading west for 7 miles to the Refuge gate. Additionally, Highway 62 is nearby, with Highway 115 providing access to the Refuge gate.
