What Guests Are Saying
Doris Campground offers a serene environment with beautiful views, well-maintained facilities, and abundant wildlife, making it a great choice for nature lovers. Many campers appreciated the clean bathrooms and friendly camp hosts, as well as the opportunity for hiking and exploring the nearby Wichita Mountains. However, some guests noted challenges in finding water access and occasional litter left by previous campers, but overall, the positive experiences and natural beauty outweigh the negatives.

We really enjoy Doris campground as a convenient stop on cross-country trips. It is a very hands-off campground in terms of staffing; there is really no one around to ask questions of. Cleaning the bathrooms does not seem to be a priority. The lake is beautiful. We really liked our site in the C loop, but it is a trek to the not-often-cleaned bathroom/shower house, of which there seems to be only one.
It really is a unique location, and I'm sure we will be back!

Excellent campground. The area was full of bison, longhorn, antelope and a bald eagle. Way more of a campground than expected.

What a great place. Had site 51 which has 30 amp electrical, lots of trees, sites are spread out and no phone service. Did a couple of hikes saw the buffalo and climbed a hill which looks over the Whichata Range. It was a little walk to the bathhouse but it was very clean and pretty new. The campground host was very friendly.
