Since this is the only campground in the reserve, it can be quite busy and packed with people. There is a new shower house/bathroom and the old one is closed down. This means there are only two toilets per gender for 90 (?) campsites. Also, the camp host has an unusual way of identifying vehicles in the campground area by using Post-It notes attached to the inside of your windshield. Make sure you get one of these at the entrance or be prepared to answer questions later. Otherwise, a nice campground with no noise complaints and most everyone here seemed to be experienced campers with some etiquette and skills unlike the rookies you find at state parks.

Had a great time. We saw bison. We went to Medicine Park area was a blast as well. Great spot quiet and clean.

Our stay here was fantastic and very peaceful. Large spots so nobody right on top of us. Wish there was water at the site but we made it fine with our fresh water tank. We were there 4 nights. Camp host was very kind and helpful when we arrived. No cell service but there is some just one mile e east.

It was so peaceful here at the time we visited (Sunday - Friday). Loved all of the wildlife. Being able to hike from the campsite up to LIttle Baldy and also the trail over to the education center was a bonus. New bathrooms are clean. The showers are just ok - a few of them are a little smelly and the shower nozzle seems to be able to spray around the half-divider set up to keep your clothes dry. But overall we would definitely return!

From I-44 take Highway 49 (exit 45). Go west 7 miles to the Refuge gate or 14 miles to the Visitor Center. If coming from Highway 62, take Highway 115 (Cache exit) north to the Refuge Gate.
Doris Campground is accessible via I-44 and Highway 49, with Highway 49 leading west for 7 miles to the Refuge gate. Additionally, Highway 62 is nearby, with Highway 115 providing access to the Refuge gate.
