Great little one night stay although the loop had some low branches so keep take your time pulling into your spot. Bathrooms were clean and the host greeted us to be sure we knew our spot. Saw the Bison on the way in and out!

Campground is popular and can be very active and somewhat noisy through the night. Italy’s up for it by being in a phenomenal area with plenty of things to do nearby. Sunset drive up Mount Scott, hiking little baldy from the campground, and hiking Kite trail to the forty foot hole are great options! Watch out for wild Bison, Longhorns, and Tarantulas.

Great campsite! Sites are all back-in. There is electric only. There are water spigots available for filling up if you need to. I did not use the restrooms so don't know what they were like. If you like camping "in" nature this is a great campground for that, even with neighbors. I had neighbors on one side in site 51, this made it feel more private. Sites are narrow so be sure your rig is not too wide to fit. Firewood is available for purchase.
The refuge has a lot of interesting things to do. Wildlife viewing , Scott Mountain, Holy City and trails for hiking. The drive is spectacular with Bison and Elk views and lots of rocks and open fields. Many small lakes.
Prepare for ticks, hard to avoid them anywhere these days.
I will be camping here again.

Clean park and restrooms, quiet neighbors and the hosts were very nice. also liked the discount from America the beautiful. Would be nice if there was cell service, but it’s not a dealbreaker.

We were there on business and chose to camp. When we arrived the first night there was a Longhorn bull eating grass near the bathhouse. The next night there were 6 deer grazing in the same spot. We loved that the wildlife roam freely. It was very scenic and worth driving around. We are already looking at our next trip!

From I-44 take Highway 49 (exit 45). Go west 7 miles to the Refuge gate or 14 miles to the Visitor Center. If coming from Highway 62, take Highway 115 (Cache exit) north to the Refuge Gate.
Doris Campground is accessible via I-44 and Highway 49, with Highway 49 leading west for 7 miles to the Refuge gate. Additionally, Highway 62 is nearby, with Highway 115 providing access to the Refuge gate.
