What Guests Are Saying
Doris Campground offers a serene environment with beautiful views, well-maintained facilities, and abundant wildlife, making it a great choice for nature lovers. Many campers appreciated the clean bathrooms and friendly camp hosts, as well as the opportunity for hiking and exploring the nearby Wichita Mountains. However, some guests noted challenges in finding water access and occasional litter left by previous campers, but overall, the positive experiences and natural beauty outweigh the negatives.

Hopefully there’s a photo of the site now but if not, just book it! We absolutely loved this site!!! 30’ TT with truck both fit great; tucked in with large area behind the camper with grill and picnic table, wildlife literally out every window and door; easy walk to the water spigot and not far from new shower house at all.
You are tucked in all to yourself in this site. The view from the picnic table area is stunning.
We had no problem with our Starlink, and the dump station is an easy drive with a tote for extended stays.
Can’t wait to go back, everything was clean and camp host was visible in campground and friendly but never intrusive. Did see Rangers there as well.
50 amp service worked great, no problems

We spent two nights at Doris campground and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. We stayed in the C loop and access to the bathroom and shower facilities was excellent. Both the showers and the restrooms were new and very clean. Our first night featured a herd of longhorn strolling through our camp, which was fun! We also woke up one morning to turkeys just outside our campsite. You will absolutely get a close-up experience with the wildlife here. There's plenty of hikes to do in the area that are within walking distance of the campsite, but a quick drive will take you over to Eagle Mountain and Charon's Gardens, which are beautiful. We can't wait to return!

I have never camped at these sites before. I've always had one of the sites where you can pull your car up to it. I love that there's a trail close by. I hate that I didn't notice it until the morning we were leaving, so we only got to be on it for a few minutes. I'll definitely be back here to check it out.

Clean, lots of nature, felt safe, friendly caretaker, quiet, sites well spaced apart. No cell coverage in camp but for me was a plus . Sign up on line was challenging and not clear. Medicine Park nearby is best visited Thursday-Sunday as is Meers Hamburgers. Mount Scott and other nearby hiking trails.
