We spent two nights at Doris campground and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. We stayed in the C loop and access to the bathroom and shower facilities was excellent. Both the showers and the restrooms were new and very clean. Our first night featured a herd of longhorn strolling through our camp, which was fun! We also woke up one morning to turkeys just outside our campsite. You will absolutely get a close-up experience with the wildlife here. There's plenty of hikes to do in the area that are within walking distance of the campsite, but a quick drive will take you over to Eagle Mountain and Charon's Gardens, which are beautiful. We can't wait to return!

Hopefully there’s a photo of the site now but if not, just book it! We absolutely loved this site!!! 30’ TT with truck both fit great; tucked in with large area behind the camper with grill and picnic table, wildlife literally out every window and door; easy walk to the water spigot and not far from new shower house at all.
You are tucked in all to yourself in this site. The view from the picnic table area is stunning.
We had no problem with our Starlink, and the dump station is an easy drive with a tote for extended stays.
Can’t wait to go back, everything was clean and camp host was visible in campground and friendly but never intrusive. Did see Rangers there as well.
50 amp service worked great, no problems

We had a neighbor who set up his trailer & then was looking for water hookup. We told him there wasn’t any at sites but could pull his trailer there. We have been camping there for 29 years & always love it. Thanks.

The Doris campground at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge was well designed and maintained. The best thing about it was the wildlife roaming around the campground!
