Excellent campground. The area was full of bison, longhorn, antelope and a bald eagle. Way more of a campground than expected.

We really enjoy Doris campground as a convenient stop on cross-country trips. It is a very hands-off campground in terms of staffing; there is really no one around to ask questions of. Cleaning the bathrooms does not seem to be a priority. The lake is beautiful. We really liked our site in the C loop, but it is a trek to the not-often-cleaned bathroom/shower house, of which there seems to be only one.
It really is a unique location, and I'm sure we will be back!

We were in spot 31C, it was pretty much right by the water, but not too close. It was a very nice campground but it was still early in the season and the trees were not full yet. There was a lot of people there and thankfully no one was making excessive noise when the sun went down. The site was nice, it had a BBQ and a concrete bench and a fire pit, I have to remember to bring a grill cleaning brush and charcoal next time. Bathroom with a shower was out of order so we had to walk to the next closest one. I would prefer more dispersed camping but this was a nice one to take the family. We saw a lot of bison and long horn cattle on the way in and I saw a turkey in one of the unoccupied spots. I would recommend this place, and I will probably visit again.
