This campground is so special to me. Spent my childhood with my folks, in our pop up camper camping here. So now in my 50's I decided to relieve those memories with my 29 and 14 year old sons. Even got the same spot my folks used. The campground is so well kept and the staff so friendly. Water and electric sites are very level and maintained. Access to other parts of the refuge is a big selling point. Thanks to the VA and the All Access Pass I was able to enjoy the majesty of the Wichitas at a minimal cost. Love this place and plan on returning.

We've been visiting the Doris Campground for over 30 years, particularly bringing our boy scouts for a winter campout each January. We've visited it when the bath houses were closed, when the bathrooms were closed, when the water was unavailable, so we've seen this campground at its worst, and we have still loved it. But now, however, the campground is upgraded, new bathrooms, new bath houses, new drop toilets and the campsites are cleaner and brighter than ever. Our loyalty has paid off in a big way. This campground puts us in the middle of so many great areas for hiking and enjoying the outdoors. Even with the huge crowds the last weekend of spring break, we had a wonderful experience. We'll keep coming back.

Campground was clean and the electric RV sites were well spaced apart. There is a dump station with a tank wash at the entrance of the campground and every loop has a fill station, with very good pressure. My only complaint is the bathhouse was dirty. The kind of dirty that pisses you off at people's lack of respect for public property -- someone had spit tobacco on the shower floor and wall, there were wrappers and trash in several of stalls.

Great campground! Site 40 was excellent. It was a full campground but all sites have plenty of space to sprawl out and relax and not feel cramped. Love the lake and hiking Little Baldy.
