Doris Campground offers a serene environment with beautiful views, well-maintained facilities, and abundant wildlife, making it a great choice for nature lovers. Many campers appreciated the clean bathrooms and friendly camp hosts, as well as the opportunity for hiking and exploring the nearby Wichita Mountains. However, some guests noted challenges in finding water access and occasional litter left by previous campers, but overall, the positive experiences and natural beauty outweigh the negatives.

This was a beautiful campsite. Lots of wildlife including raccoons who set off the car alarm in the middle of the night! The downside is that it's not close to bathrooms and the nearby dumpster had been removed.

Very clean and quiet campground. Spotted some wild turkeys close by. I really enjoyed my stay.

We felt like we were one with nature. As we were driving in we saw a herd of buffalo. Once at our campsite overlooking the lake, we saw longhorn cattle at the waters edge. We also had a turkey walk past us in the next campsite!!! It was peaceful and beautiful!

It was a little difficult to find our campsites given the limited signage and one-way streets. The water spigots need signage as well, as do restrooms. The restrooms were a hike from our campsite, so not ideal. We had to drive to fill up water coolers at the spigots.
While these are manageable, the evening visits from raccoons were a real pain. Raccoons tore a hole in one tent to raid a Clif bar stash, and helped themselves through a partially unzipped door of another to steal a few cold-brew tea bags. We'd chase them off, but they would come right back--there were very comfortable around people. Some of our group had to stay up while others slept to keep the raccoons from causing more night-time disturbances.

Campground was fine, big guy with beard was an *%&$#. We showed up an hour and half early not realizing check in was 3pm saying they needed to get site ready. The campground was empty, I get it when it's busy.

The campsite is well-maintained and has very pretty scenery. The raccoons are a bit excessive, you'd expect some pests while camping, but I had 13 different raccoons approach my camp at night. Two of them tried to get into my tent and several were hard to scare off, about half ran for the hills from my flashlight or clapping. Other than the raccoon problem, it was a great time while I was there.
