Disappointed that our area was not mowed especially since we followed memorial weekend & it was so high so know it had not been mowed for some time. Also knowing that area F was full the bathrooms were not cleaned regularly & ran out of toilet paper every day.

Lakeside is a great place to stay. We camped on Loop B. It’s a great place to let the kids swim. The only thing I would change is Loop B needs showers.

Lakeside is a very pleasant well maintained camping area. Most sites have a great view of the lake we have been there numerous times and is our first choice

Lakeside is a well-designed park with five loops. The boat launch is spacious and has easy access. Wildlife in the park is abundant and birders will have fun adding to life lists. The photos in Rec.gov are accurate and helful for picking a site. I stay here often, in all the loops. There’s a small, well-stocked neighborhood store on the entrance road. Park is about 10 miles to Durant or Kingston.

I was extremely please with my site's location thought I would like the one on either side of it better. It was great to be close to the lake and have water deep enough to fish off of the bank in. The concrete pad was easy to back onto and it was real level. I would highly recommend this campground to a friend.

Lakeside Public Use Area is accessible via US Highway 70, which is approximately 5 miles to the north. The nearest major interstate is Interstate 35, located about 25 miles west.

- Entrance gates are open from .
- During winter months, one frost-free hydrant is available within the campground to fill water tanks; individual water hookups are shut off annually after the end of November.

- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- Some sites in Lakeside will be closed during the off season, for boat launch pay at fee vault at the ramp. Park will be fully open starting April 1st.
