What Guests Are Saying

The cabin was suitable for basic needs, though it lacked a bathroom and kitchenette, which limited convenience. While the park is clean and quiet, it may not offer the adventure expected, as amenities like fire pits were absent. However, the caretaker was helpful, and for those seeking a calm retreat away from the hustle, this could be a fitting choice.

This is a nice place but I'm not sure where the adventure part comes in. I thought this campground was by the river and it's not. Maybe that was my fault but I feel like I was misled by pictures on their website so I wanted to let others know that the river is a bit away. We didn't even have a fire ring or fire pit at our site. Yes, everything was clean and neat but just boring. We didn't end up staying our full time and after discussing it with the owner he did give a refund for some of it. If you want a calm, quiet place this is for you.

It is definitely off the beaten path, with no signs directing you what roads to take, you have to rely on GPS and be prepared to drive on rough dirt roads, the park itself is not big rig friendly, has small cabins to rent and FHU for 35ft rv camper but not any bigger than that, it's close to Illinois River though.

This has almost everything you need except for a kitchenette stuffed in a cute little cabin. Unfortunately, there isn't very much room to store any luggage or gear. There is a nice big TV but no local service or Internet so if you want background TV noise bring lots of DVDs. There are a few DVDs there.
Also some written (or typed) general instructions for the heater, lighting, etc. I finally figured out everything when it was about time to go.
Unfortunately it rained every day I was there so I was stuck in the cabin most of the time so the "little things" really add up. If you could enjoy all the surrounding activities and just used it as a "home base" it would be great. There's not any places to eat unless you want to drive into Tahlequah. Not having a kitchen or TV was a definite drawback

The caretaker Tom was very helpful and everyone I talked to were very pleasant.

Quiet, very isolated, the hosts are terrific people. On site staff is friendly and very helpful. Prices are great for rv spaces or cabins. Shower house, grills, as well as outside dining tables.
