We enjoyed the COE Campground at Ricky Point/Ft Gibson very much. Even with the temperature over 100 degrees everyday we were able to stay cool in our shaded campsite.

Love Rocky top. Always stay here when I'm in "town". Quiet, great bathrooms on the west side. Swim beach, boats ramps and a few pull-thru sites, great park, great hosts.

Signage to the entry gate for Rocky Point needs updating, as well as location of entry. My Garmin GPS thinks there is still an access point into the campground property at the south west corner of the facility. The old road that leads there from INSIDE the campground is blocked and obviously has been out of use for at least two decades. This information needs to be made available to all the GPS manufacturers to ensure that their units take users to the proper actual entry point. the locals that live in that neighborhood are not happy to see RV's transiting their streets.

For the campground specifically, the grass had not been mowed in over 5 weeks, according to the park ranger, because there were difficulties securing a proper "mowing contract." Now, I'm not a contracts officer or such, but it seems to me that trying to get a contract AFTER the park is already open for the summer is not an optimal way to do this. Since Rocky Point CG is closed for the winter months, this, in my opinion, would be a good time to work toward securing a mowing contract, when the park is empty and there are no visitors to dismay. Our camp site was totally covered with 1-3 foot tall grass and the only way to get to our camper was to "trek through the brush" to reach our door. NOT ideal for a handicapped user, which we are, on a handicapped accessible site, which we were. Our fire pit was so totally engulfed with overgrowth it was completely unusable. I have photos if anyone cares, that's how bad I thought it was.

On the positive side, the camp hosts were excellent, friendly and attentive, and very present throughout our stay. The restrooms and all the other facilities were in top notch condition because of their efforts. The hosts are excellent!

The travel trailer spot was perfect. Clean, well kept, with lots of firewood everywhere for the fire pit. Electric and water both worked well. The running water bathrooms were exceptionally clean, with plenty of toilet paper in the commode rooms. Lots of nice hot water for the showers. The beach was clean. The price per night was very affordable, under $25 per night.. Will be camping there again🥰

We just picked the worst spot for tent camping. We somehow missed any shade and it was far from the shore. The water was super high so I can’t imagine how far it would have been to the water if it wasn’t high. We went to the other side with some friends it was 20 degrees cooler. Also the land was not as flat as we thought so we slept with our heads and back elevated all night. I still had fun and the camp grounds are nice. It seems like the bathrooms were taken care of. I would say pick anywhere but spot 16 unless you have a camper.
