Union Creek Campground is a well-maintained and peaceful destination, praised for its spacious sites and friendly camp hosts. While some visitors noted the lake's low water levels and challenges accessing it, many enjoyed the clean facilities, abundant hiking trails, and overall quiet atmosphere. Overall, it’s regarded as a great camping spot with a scenic setting, making it a favorite among campers.

This is amazing, to have a quiet, beautiful setting with RV hookups available in a state park. We enjoyed an evening walk. It is sad to see the super low level of the lake, but to be expected. Thanks to all who make a facility like this available.

It's a great place to stay. The campsite was clean and pretty level. We only visited one night, but it's so nice we stop here frequently when we travel I84 back and forth from Portland to points East. There is a dump station available in the park and if you're camping there it's free. We visited in mid Sept. and the lake had been drawn down quite a bit. I bet it's a busy place in the summer.

In particular, Red and Dale Shorts are most excellent people and outstanding, diligent campgrounds hosts . The faculties, especially bathrooms, could stand some upgrading as some are showing their age and use. It’s a very special place for us to camp every year and Anthony Lakes does a fine job of making sure the peacefulness isn’t disturbed by pressure from the off-road crowd to allow those loud and obnoxious machines to run rampant in this campground. For that we are grateful. Keep this place exactly as it is now so those who truly appreciate the peace of the outdoors can return year after year to quiet the noise of civilization!

Very kind campground hosts and knowledgeable manager. Well-kept grounds and respectful neighbors. Clean and lit accessible bathrooms. Loved the provided tables and fire rings. We WILL come back another time, so peaceful!

Union Creek CG is one of our favorites. It is close to numerous Sumpter, Granite and Baker City. Easy to do short day trips to the historic Fremont Power House near Granite, Sumpter Valley Dredge in Sumpter and the Oregon Trail Museum in Baker City.
If you fish, you are right on the water at Philips Reservoir. The campground has a nice boat ramp though access might be limited during drought years.

From Baker City, Oregon, travel south on Highway 7 for about 18 mi. The campground and day-use entrance is on the left side of the road. Follow the signs in the Union Creek Recreation Area down to the various campground loops and areas.
