Union Creek Campground is a well-maintained and peaceful destination, praised for its spacious sites and friendly camp hosts. While some visitors noted the lake's low water levels and challenges accessing it, many enjoyed the clean facilities, abundant hiking trails, and overall quiet atmosphere. Overall, it’s regarded as a great camping spot with a scenic setting, making it a favorite among campers.

We love coming to Union Creek Campground. From Boise, it's 40 mi farther than going to Ponderosa State Park in McCall, Idaho, a campground we also love, but driving on the freeway, the driving time is about the same. It's a plus that we also gain an hour due to the time change on the way over, making it seem like we're arriving earlier than we are.
The campsites are very spacious and there's plenty of room between sites. We like the electrical and water hookups; this time we stayed in the A Loop, so we also had a sewer hookup. Our dogs have a Burley trailer and they enjoy tagging along on bike treks along the shoreline and through the campground.
The camp hosts in Loop A and in Loop B, where we stayed earlier in the summer were vey kind and we enjoyed talking with them.
Our experiences couldn't be any better.

Been to Union Creek a few times. Always clean. Friendly camp hosts. Nice having water and power and not hear generators running. One of our go to places to camp

It is a beautiful area. Wonderful sites. It is not our first time there and it will not be our last. The camp host Dan keeps it so nice and clean. He was such a joy to talk to. Great experience.

17564 Sumpter Stage Hwy, Baker City, OR 97814 United States
Elevation: 1,703 ft
From Baker City, Oregon, travel south on Highway 7 for about 18 mi. The campground and day-use entrance is on the left side of the road. Follow the signs in the Union Creek Recreation Area down to the various campground loops and areas.
