What Guests Are Saying
Thousand Trails Pacific City offers beautiful, private RV sites surrounded by trees, with scenic views and proximity to hiking trails and local restaurants. Guests appreciate the friendly staff, lovely lodge, and amenities like the indoor pool and miniature golf. However, some concerns include limited accessibility, cleanliness issues, crowded conditions, and a lack of essential facilities like a dumping station and garbage cans, which detracts from the overall experience.

The sites are amazing, the trees and bushes offer lots of privacy to RVs in the neighboring campsites. The lodge on top of the hill is great to look over the trees onto the ocean and relax with a book or game, and the campground is close to hiking trails and restaurants alike. The lobby is super cute and the staff very friendly.
Only two things: the showers need wire baskets to hold shampoo etc, and the hot tub is outdoors but there is nowhere to put/ hang things when the indoor pool is closed during the winter season. We were at this campground during the atmospheric river and loved sitting in the hot tub while it rained but had to leave all our things including towels in the car because there was nowhere to put anything off the ground and out of the weather.

Our family stayed here for a long weekend in our 28-ft RV in August, and we probably will not stay at this location again. Pros: beach access via a walking path (crosses Hwy 101), close to Pacific City, beautiful tall trees, and huckleberries. Our site itself was great, with full hookups and an ocean view, but this campground is a labyrinth - that’s really the best word to describe it. We were tucked way back in section F. The sites are packed close together, the roads are very steep and narrow, and we may not have even been able to get out of there at checkout if it weren’t for an open campsite that allowed us to turn around better, because I don’t think our truck & trailer could have made the turn at the end of our road otherwise. The clubhouse / pool / hot tub was completely inaccessible on foot - it took about 10 minutes of steep winding roads to drive there - and even to walk to the beach with our kids, we had to drive to my parents’ campsite in section B and walk from there. When I mentioned we would like to be closer to my parents, no accommodation was made, and we were across the campground from them. I guess I could have insisted. The other issue was that the laundry service was not working while we were there, because the Internet was down. Normally, this would not be a big issue, but it was raining that entire day and half our stuff was completely soaked and I was counting on being able to use a dryer. There was no communication about the laundry not working either - when we checked it, there was not even a sign on the door, we had to track someone down and ask them why the laundry door was locked, and it didn’t get fixed during our whole stay. I could see how this campground would be nice if you were close to the beach trail and somewhat closer to the clubhouse amenities, but it’s just such a huge campground that many of the sites have very limited accessibility.

We stayed there for a night because we saw hot shower on the ad. Paid $77 even with the discount and there’s only 1 shower room in each section. No dumping station. No garbage can! We have to haul our trash with us when checked out. For this price we’d hoped for at least a dumping station. Too many people. Very crowded. Will not stay again.

Overall the experience was good. The facilities however were dirty, not clean and toilets only worked half the time. The pool was disgusting dead bugs, and hair and other things, and the deck was slimy. The miniature golf was our favorite part. The roads need to be repaired, lots of potholes. Camp sites really close together. Our yurt was not cleaned properly, we found dirty undergarments. If you plan to camp with an RV you will be fine. Also no cell service and wifi didn't work. So bring your starlink if you need wifi access.

We love this spot. Pacific City is more of a laid-back beach town. It has beautiful views. The campground is great. The spots are a little difficult to park due to angles, but there is tons of privacy, and you feel like you are in the woods. They have a huge indoor pool and nice lodge. The only thing that can be annoying is that there aren't a lot of full hookups. So just make sure you make reservations early or bring your portable dump tank. They do have multiple dump stations on site.
