What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Bay State Park offers breathtaking views, especially of the dunes, providing a peaceful experience for visitors. The park is well-maintained with clean facilities, and the friendly hosts enhance the overall enjoyment. While there are some challenges, such as high fees and limited sunset viewing due to park hours, many guests express a desire to return for the natural beauty and quality amenities.

What an incredibly beautiful place to have here. The dunes were just amazing and peaceful and I felt like I was the only one there. What a treat!

First of all, the park closes right at sunset and it kind of leap frogs the sunset all year. So we actually got booted from the park right at sunset as the sun was going down and drove over to Simpsons Reef which is like a minute away to finish watching the sunset. Just the heads up if you're heading over there just for the sunset. Souch fun to introduce my granddaughters to tide pools at the same beach I learned about them. Unfortunately the park fees are steep ($12 for out of state) and the QR code wasn't working. If we hadn't been with another person that was waiting in their vehicle, we would have received a ticket

A little crowded with very little space between campsites, but the landscaping in between the sites provided visual separation and privacy. The park is well maintained and the hosts do a fantastic job keeping it that way. The blowers, mowers and edgers were whisper quiet. The reception was stellar and bathrooms were so very clean. The showers are cleaned every day and if you get there when they first unlock them you’ll get a freshly mopped and cleaned shower stall. Water was hot and plentiful. Thank you Oregon State Parks for making my long journey to get there worth it. I want to return again.

We stayed in a yurt. It was clean has a little table, ours was close to the bathrooms and showers. The little heater kept us nice and toasty warm at night. We will definitely come back.
