About Bull Prairie Campground (OR)

Bull Prairie Campground is a local gem; a beautiful, woodsy place to enjoy a vacation, host a family reunion or social event, and to enjoy multiple recreational pursuits. This moderate-sized campground is located adjacent to 28-acre Bull Prairie Lake, which is stocked annually with trout. An accessible, family-friendly paved trail along the lake is ideal for morning jogs, bicycle rides, picnicking, and shore or dockside fishing. The lake has a boat ramp, dock and trailer parking area, but only non-motorized boating is allowed. Nearby trails connect the campground and lake with the Morrow County OHV Park, 8 mi away. Note: ATVs are only allowed at the dump station and in the north part of the campground (sites 25-28).   While this campground offers potable water, there is no garbage service so please pack out all garbage and dispose of it at home.

There was no host and it shows. The upkeep of this remote campground has always been stellar until this visit. The campground location is amazing, the lack of care now is disappointing.

This camp site has been one of my favorites for the longest time. I’ve been camping here for a while. I’m not sure what happened to the camp host that have been there for the last few years I’ve seen this camp site before they came in I also seen the camp while they were there and now that they aren’t there I can see the big difference. They were very kind people always willing to help and make your campaign experience as easy as possible. They keep the bathrooms super clean always staying on top of the overall look of the entire campsite. It hurts leaving a review like this one to one of my favorite places to camp but I feel is necessary.

Let’s see. When we arrived, there was no Camp Host. He had quit a few days earlier for lack of support. Within a couple of days, there was no vault toilets had run out of toilet paper. There was no water from the the many faucets plainly visible in the campground. Apparently, there was a glitch in the electronics which shut off the water and no one knew how to restart it. Really, quite unforgivable in a campground like this. I give it no stars.

Bull Prairie is a very beautiful camping area. Every year my wife and I go there for one of our annual camping trips. With the exception of this year, I'd rate the overall experience as excellent. However, this year I cannot say the same. My major issue is the fact they had shut the potable water off; not for a day but for the entire length of our stay. It would have been nice to have been informed about the water. Had I been informed I would have brought my own water. Secondly, every night two skunks kept coming into camp. Don't get me wrong, I love nature, but when it comes to skunks walking right up to you, tends to get a bit unnerving.

Everything was good but for some reason there was not usable water for use at the camp site the whole time we were there for the 3 days and 2 nights
